Hon. Steve Ashton MLA - Thompson

God, we ask that you be with Steve Ashton and help him know how to help in the native community that he works with. We pray that they will feel heard and respected and find peace with the missing women situation that is so prevalent. We pray protection over them.

Minister of infrastructure and transportation
Minister responsible for emergency measures

"Our infrastructure is key to our future economic growth. With CentrePort Canada the Port of Churchill, our world class airports, rail lines and highway links we have the opportunity to transform Manitoba into an international hub of trade and transportation."
Steve was first elected to the Manitoba Legislature in 1981. He has been re-elected eight consecutive times. Before Premier Greg Selinger appointed Steve as the Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, he served as the Minister of Conservation, the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister responsible for Emergency Measures, and in November 2003 he was named Minister of Water Stewardship, a department solely committed to water issues and the first such department to be created in Canada.
Steve is also the minister responsible for Emergency Measures, and has worked hard to protect homes and communities from last year’s historic flooding.
