As the new MLA for St. James, she looks forward to working as part of Greg Selinger’s team to keep providing the community with hard working and effective NDP representation.
Deanne is a teacher who appreciates the importance of education to today’s families and communities. She specializes in literacy and English as an additional language. For the past five years, she has worked with adults who have lost their jobs to improve their literacy skills before re-entering the job market. Prior to this, she worked as an adult literacy instructor to help them obtain their GED diplomas while improving their reading, writing and math skills.
Deanne’s volunteer activities include helping women new to Canada by teaching English and helping them adjust to life in Manitoba.
More About Deanne
- Taught English in Japan for three years;
- Holds an honour’s degree from Trent University, and
- Lives with husband Blake and their two children in St. James.
