MLA Bob Lagasse, Dawson Trail

Lord, I lift up MLA Bob Lagasse to You. I pray, Lord, that Your words would be on his lips and Your agenda in his heart.  I pray, Lord, that You would speak to him and give him his daily portion he needs to govern. I pray, Lord, that his heart would be for You. I pray, Lord, that You be glorified and exalted through him. I pray, Lord, that Your hand would guide him. I pray, Lord, that he would seek You and that You would fill him with Your wisdom and lead him in Your will. Amen........

Bob Lagassé was elected to his first term as the MLA for Dawson Trail on April 19, 2016. He is the eldest of four siblings and was raised in a bilingual Metis home in St. Adolphe. Bob met his wife Andrea while working at Winkler Bible Camp as counsellors. They have been together 18 years and are the parents of 5 children, including two foster daughters.

MLA Judy Klassen, Kewatinook

Dear Lord, we thank You for MLA Judy Klassen. We ask, Lord, that You would bless her in every aspect of her life. We ask, Lord, that You would place a hedge of protection around her and that her heart would beat for Yours. We ask Lord that you would lead and guide her in all Your ways and You would give her clear and divine direction in the path that she should take to lead her constituency. In Jesus name we pray, Amen....... 

Judy Klassen is your elected Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for the riding of Kewatinook (elected in 2016).  Judy and her husband Jason have six children. She grew up in a remote fly-in Northern reserve and has spent over ten years working and living in an urban area and completing post-secondary education.

MLA Wab Kinew, Fort Rouge

Dear God, we bring before you MLA Wab Kinew. Thank you for the blessing of leadership qualities and abilities that you have given him and we pray that they will continue to be used for the good of all people in Manitoba. Thank you for his work on social justice issues, and for his compassion for those who are vulnerable and need a voice. Give him strength and guidance as he works on tough issues that face our province and the people of our province. We pray a special blessing on his wife and children as they support him in this important role of serving the people of Manitoba. Cover them with Your grace and mercy. In Jesus’ name we pray. Wab Kinew is the Leader of the Manitoba New Democratic Party and Leader of the Opposition. Before entering politics, he was a musician, broadcaster and university administrator, best known as a host of programming on CBC Radio an CBC Television. Kinew is married to Lisa, a family physician who practices medicine at an inner-city clinic, and has two sons from a previous relationship.

MLA Scott Johnston, St. James


Father, today we bring before You MLA Scott Johnson.  Thank you Lord for men who are willing to stand up and take such positions of Leadership. Direct his steps according to your word, for his decisions have a great impact on his constituents. Help him Lord, to speak up for righteousness and stand up against evil. We ask, Lord, that You would encamp his constituency with Your love, power and grace. May Your blessing be upon him and his family.  We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.......

Scott Johnston was elected to the Manitoba Legislature as the MLA for St. James on April 19, 2016.  Scott and his wife Karen are life-long residents of St. James. They have three children all of whom are graduates of the St. James- Assiniboia School Division.

MLA Derek Johnson, Interlake

Lord, thank You for new MLA Derek Johnson! Grant him great wisdom as he serves the riding of Interlake. Thank You that he has the desire to work hard for the priorities of Interlake including enhanced flood protection infrastructure, a stronger healthcare system that meets the needs of rural communities. Bless him and his family! Amen........

Derek Johnson was elected to his first term as the MLA for Interlake on April 19, 2016. In addition to his duties as MLA, he serves as the Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure.  For the past 8 years, Derek has worked as a Financial Advisor serving area residents. He is currently the Assistant Branch Manager for a local financial institution. Derek was born and raised in Oak Point, where his family has resided for the past four generations. Derek now lives on the shores of Lake Manitoba with his wife Tara and their children, Skyler and Charmaine.

Len Isleifson was elected as the new MLA for Brandon East on April 19, 2016. He has called Brandon his home since 1962 and has been proud to serve his community as a City Councillor, health services professional, and avid volunteer. Len was born in Treherne, Manitoba and raised in Brandon. Len has been married to his wife Chris since 1982 and they have two adult children, Andrew and Natasha.

Reg Helwer was elected to his first term as MLA for Brandon West in 2011 and was re-elected on April 19, 2016. In addition to his duties as MLA, he serves as a member of the provincial Treasury Board and is the Vice Chair of the Public Accounts Committee. Reg and Aynsley Helwer are proud to call Brandon home and to raise their 4 children in the community.
